Robert Ruttmann

Robert Ruttmann is the founder and CEO of Redesigning Financial Services, a HSG-run think tank dedicated to accelerating the structural transformation in the financial services industry. Robert spent 11 years in financial services sector as a cross-asset strategist in the in Global Research and in the Global Investment Products and Strategy Committee Office at Credit Suisse and in the Investment Office at Julius Baer. Robert also serves as a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen, where he won the award “Best Lecturer 2019” for Global Executive MBA program. He teaches courses on company valuation, investing and asset allocation, and a course called “Innovating for Sustainability”. 

Robert is also a co-founder of Urban Connect AG, a company and focused on developing forward-looking urban mobility solutions for corporates with a focus on connected e-bikes, e-scooters and e-cars. He is also a member of the Advisory Panel to the Swiss Federal Council (Bundesrat) on International Development. Robert does his PhD at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), and holds two master’s degrees, one in Banking and Finance, the other in International Affairs and Governance, both from the HSG. His undergraduate degree is in Economics from Bates College, USA.
